Tunnel Trot Fun Run/Walk

Preregistration Closed – Walk-ins Welcome! Register the day of the event in-person beginning at 9am.

Tunnel Trot races begin at the same time and follow similar routes; beginning at the Coburn Park and the confluence of Elk, Pine, and Penns Creek, the course follows Penns downstream along a relatively flat dirt, gravel, and partially paved road to the historic Coburn Tunnel and back. The 5K course follows Tunnel Rd. to the Coburn train tunnel at 2.5K and returns via the same route. The 10K continues on Tunnel Rd., crosses the foot bridge over Penns Creek and onto the Penns Creek rail trail to the 5K turn around point.

Runners, walkers, trotters, wanderers, and moseyers alike will navigate the course alongside gorgeous Penns Creek. The scenery abounds as Bald Eagles hunt for trout, migrating songbirds harmonize in morning chorus, and if you’re really lucky, perhaps even a salamander or wood turtle may cross your path.

Your Tunnel Trot registration fee will support PVCA’s Environmental Education programming in the Penns Valley Area School District and community. Field trips, school gardens, and public programs are only a few of the examples of the impact your donations and sponsorships have had in our community for more than two decades.
