Join us to search for natural crystals in the freshly ploughed fields of eastern Penns Valley. Our ancient Appalachian mountains contain fascinating geological specimens which spring ploughing can reveal to the keen-eyed observer. Geoscientist Mike Arthur will join us for some rock talk as we search for hidden gems. After the walk, we’ll enjoy some snacks and share our found treasures.
From parking, there will be a bit of an uphill 10 minute walk on mowed paths to the site – participants are invited to wear boots or other footwear appropriate to the weather. Carpooling is encouraged; feel free to bring your favorite snacks to share. Limit 20 people, so sign up to reserve your spot and receive location details and directions.
