Identify the most common invasive plants in our area, and learn techniques to control these species in gardens, fields, and natural lands. This workshop will cover both small and large-scale removal, intention-setting for natural landscapes, organic and responsible chemical removal, and strategies for replacement to keep invasive plants at bay. This workshop is free, but registration is required.
Art Gover is the proprietor of Fruittown Land Stewardship Services. Prior to starting his own land stewardship company in 2008, Art worked at Penn State Extension from 1985 to 2021 specializing in weed management in non-crop areas. He has conducted invasive species research and control demonstrations since 1993 and has engaged in large-scale operational projects on public state lands.
Sarah DePasquale is Penns Valley Conservation Association’s Environmental Education Coordinator. She runs Meadowsweet Botanicals, a native plant landscaping company and nursery, from her farm in Woodward. Sarah holds and Ecological Gardening Certificate from Mt. Cuba Center in Delaware, and appreciates invasive plants for their food and medicinal value.
