Learn how to turn kitchen scraps and yard waste into healthy, nutrient-rich compost for your garden. We will discuss composting processes and techniques, bin construction and purchase options, and together build a simple wire frame compost pile for demonstration. Whether you’re a seasoned backyard gardener or curious beginner, you’ll leave with the skills to reduce waste and grow greener. This program is free, but registration is limited. Workshop location in Woodward and directions will be provided to registered participants via email.
Sarah DePasquale is Penns Valley Conservation Association’s Environmental Education Coordinator. She is an avid gardener who runs Meadowsweet Botanicals, a native plant landscaping company and nursery, from her farm in Woodward. Sarah holds and Ecological Gardening Certificate from Mt. Cuba Center in Delaware, and believes healthy soil is the foundation of every good garden.
