Upper Penns Creek Watershed Conservation
Our mission is to pursue and organize conservation projects, activities, and education to promote the health of the Upper Penns Creek Watershed, and to build relationships with landowners and partner organizations to accomplish these goals.
Conservation Projects
PVCA’s Watershed Committee leads the way in protecting and improving the health of the Upper Penns Creek Watershed. We identify, initiate, and manage projects that preserve water quality and enhance riparian habitats—critical components of a thriving ecosystem.
Our Work Includes:
- Streambank fencing to protect waterways from livestock
- Planting riparian buffers to reduce runoff and support wildlife
- Restoring wetlands for natural water filtration and habitat
- Regrading and compacting streambanks to reduce erosion
- Installing in-stream sediment control structures
- Promoting and implementing agricultural Best Management Practices (BMPs)
