Stream Bank Cleanup

Meet at Coburn Park | Saturday, April 23, 2022 | 9am

Penns Valley Conservation Association (PVCA) is once again sponsoring its Annual Stream Bank Clean Up on April 23rd, beginning at Coburn Park in Coburn, PA.

Volunteers for this family-friendly event will clean up stream banks and streamside roads in Penns Valley. Beginning at Coburn Park at 9am, volunteers will get their gloves, safety vests, trash bags, and clean-up location. Sites will be easily accessible by all ages and abilities. Sorting of collected recyclables at Coburn Park will begin at 11am. Snacks will be provided.

Each year, dozens of volunteers gather trash, tires, and whatever oddities have washed up on the stream banks in the previous year. A dumpster is donated by Carson Disposal of State College, to hold the scrap metal, tires, and other junk volunteers collect.

“For over 20 years, PVCA has kept the stream banks of beautiful Penns Valley clean for all to enjoy” said PVCA volunteer and event coordinator, Annie Mascelli.

“After the year we just had, many folks are eager to get outside and make a difference in their neighborhood. Picking up litter is a simple, easy activity that most people can do and the results are immediate. We are so grateful to all our volunteers who make this event a success each year.”
