Fly Rod Raffle 2026

This is the place for PVCA’s 15th Annual Fly Rod Raffle!  Ticket sales kick off on March 29th during the Riversongs event, and will also become available on this page at that time. Tickets are on sale for only $50 each, and only 50 will be sold!

From the bench of master cane rod maker Jim Downes. An 8’ 3” two-piece, two-tip bamboo fly rod, #14 ferrule based on a Dickerson taper. Fast action rod for a 6wt. line. Straw colored cane, 3 x 3 node pattern, mirror-matched tips, flawless varnish. Translucent chestnut-colored silk wraps tipped in black. Black oxidized reel seat, snake guides, and tip tops. 6 1/2” modified full wells flor grade cork grip. A well-figured tiger maple insert under the downlocking reel seat completes this exceptional example of the rod maker’s art. Labeled Downes brass-capped tube and rod sock are included with the rod.

Buying tickets:

  • Tickets will be on sale on this page beginning at 4pm on March 29th and going to the early hours of June 21st (this is so that sales begin with Riversongs, and then conclude with enough time for staff to fill out the entered versions of last-minute online tickets the day of the drawing)
  • You can buy them at Riversongs. We hope to see you there!
  • You can also stop by at the PVCA Office during our office hours (9-1 Thursday, 10-4 Friday)

When you buy a ticket online, you will get a receipt, of course, but you don’t need that for the drawing. We fill out a physical ticket(s) on your behalf and enter them into the drawing, so you don’t have to remember a number. If you win, we will contact you through the information you provided.

The drawing will be held on Sunday, June 21st, at 2 pm, at Elk Creek Cafe. If you don’t happen to be there, we will promptly contact you with great news! While the winner does not have to be present to win, they must pick up the rod in person; no shipping is available. When you purchase a ticket(s) you will be asked for an email address. Make sure it’s an email you check because that’s how we will contact you if you win but are not at the drawing!

The custom hand-crafted fly rod will be on display at Elk Creek Cafe until Sun June 21st.

All money raised by the raffle goes to PVCA’s Watershed Conservation work in the Upper Penns Creek Watershed.
