Bringing Bluebirds to Your Backyard
PVCA and the Bluebird Society of Pennsylvania offer this two hour workshop detailing how to house and support nesting Eastern bluebirds. The outdoor program will include a presentation on bluebird biology and conservation and include guidelines for starting and maintaining safe, successful nest boxes. Following the presentation will be a demonstration on nest box unit construction and installation and a short walk featuring a fifteen nest box bluebird trail. Participants are invited to bring a lawn chair and picnic lunch (light refreshments will be provided), dress for the weather, and wear sturdy shoes if they wish to join the bluebird trail walk. Specifics on the location in Aaronsburg will be provided to participants via email prior to the event.
Registration is limited to 30 participants. A variety of bluebird houses and kits will be available for purchase at cost.
